MilkyTracker Feature Requests / Re: multiple input files
« on: January 10, 2012, 06:08:02 »
You can load a single XM into Milky with the "Load" Button in the GUI.

Control, Shift and T opens a new Tab, where you can load an other XM in the Way mentioned before.

That's the Way to do that in the GUI of Milky. I don't know, if there is a Way to do that, like you explained (in the Shell / Terminal), sorry.

Happy Tracking,
.Ingo.

MilkyTracker Bug Reports / Re: Responsiveness problem
« on: December 07, 2011, 06:04:05 »
Here on the current Ubuntu with the current MilkyTracker from the Repositories, it just work's fine. Well, i'm using IceWM and not the ****** Unity Desktop of Ubuntu.

Maybe it's a Window-Manager-related Problem? (Sometimes i had Problems with an other MusicTool (LMMS) on IceWM in the Past, but on Gnome it worked just fine) Or it has to do with compiling it for Arch Linux? Sorry, i'm not a big Help here  :-\ .

Greetings,
Ingo

Hi Longcat,

very good Song!

About Sample- and Instruments-ripping:

It's not forbidden, if you ask the One's, from which you get the Samples and / or Instruments, for Permission (Which i did with Jeroen "WAVE" Tel and Per Almered).

If that's not possible, crediting the One's, from which you got the Samples and / or Instruments, is an unwritten Rule, afaik.

Soundful Greetings,
Ingo

Tracking / Re: A little dip into the old-school tracking
« on: December 25, 2010, 10:33:16 »
Well, to get that typical C64 Sound, you can use an other Option too:

A Tracker for the C64 as a .d64 file and a C64 Emulator. I don't know much about that, startet only Huelsbecks Soundmonitor a few Times and listened to the Demo Song/s, etc. - and i don't know, how to create a .sid file from that, what you create e. g. in Soundmonitor on the C64.

For the Amiga Part: same thing here: Get Soundtracker, Protracker or whatever Tracker you like and a Copy of (Win)UAE and the Kickstart File/s from Cloanto or a Real Amiga 500. And don't forget the rom.key file.

Ingo

Tracking / Re: How to create e. g. a good Melody in a Tracker?
« on: December 24, 2010, 20:03:56 »
Haha, yes, that's true.

Hmm, as i can figure it out by myself - from an other music program - humming, singing, whistling, the Melody either "loud" or in thoughts, that you have in Mind, over and over again and then try to recreate it in a Musicprogram (e. g. a Tracker) can really help. The same goes for a good Bassline.

I guess, either that, or playing it before on a musical Instrument, was and is their "magic trick" to get the Melody into the Tracker.

It's a bit like, as if you make a Sketch on Paper before you create the Image on an other Medium, like e. g. a C64 or Amiga Paint Program, etc.

Well, i guess, that's how it is done.

Thanks for reading,
Ingo

PS: I hope, you all had a wonderful X-Mas-Day.

Tracking / How to create e. g. a good Melody in a Tracker?
« on: December 24, 2010, 08:59:00 »
When i listen to e. g. C64 SID files, i wonder, how they create/ed such good Melodies  O_O .

I mean, how did and do they do that? Entering the Melody in Real Time wasn't possible on a C64 or was it?

Maybe i should first learn, how to create a Melody on my Keyboard (a musical one, not the computer keyboard) and then try to recreate it in a Tracker?

I like to compare, making a Trackermusic-Piece to making a Pixel-Art-Piece...
Both have their Restrictions and Limitations, but with a little bit of Experience in Making Music / Drawing a Picture, you can translate your Style into a Trackerfile / Pixel-Art-Picture.

So, how did they do that?

btw.: Merry X-mas to you all  :) ,
Ingo

Well, here are my newer tracks - if you want to call them like that.

The first one in this Zip archive is called "a_new_start05s_e.xm" and is a chiptune. I was really trying to catch the feelings i had at that moment while composing ^_^ .

The second one is called "huelsbeckalike.xm" and is supposed to loop infinite. It is composed with some of Chris Huelsbeck's GEM'Z TFMX Samples :) .

I hope, you enjoy both of them and can tell me, what to do better next time and so on ^____^ .

Greetings,
.Ingo.

EDIT: Forgot the Atattchment ._.
