Look what I made! / for all Chrono Trigger fans!

For all Chrono Trigger fans out there, I made a version of Frog's/Glenn's theme (only a bit more metal-something-like). I hop you enjoy it!

quasian is indeed the artist, he has made a lot of other songs as well. As for the tracker.. I myself always use MadTracker 2. To me, it's the tracker that's easiest to handle, but that's just my opinion. Just try a couple of 'em out.

As for the samples of stream of lethe, you will find them, where else, in the song itself. Just pop up the song and you will see the samples as well.

Perhaps my bad.. if I remember correctly, MPT could output a low-quality mp3-file, but that was quite a long time ago.

I think #3 was Poisoned.. a perfect example of how good an easy-to-make song can be once you have the right samples, right melody and know how to get the best out of your instruments.

-to fatality-
perhaps this last song, poisoned.xm, by the mysterious remainings of Shaga and Goat, would be a good starting point

Like most other ancient trackers over here, I started out using FT2 on an old computer with a black and white monitor. I even had to put the songs on floppy and play it at my dad's computer because I didn't have a sound card in my own one. Ahh... how time flies. Nowadays, I use MadTracker2, supported by ModPlugtracker. Even though this program is not ideal, I generally like the FT2-like interface and the wide selection of sample-manipulation tools, which is absolutely necessary for a tracker like me, who uses a lot of voice samples.

Even so, my fav output remains the good ol' xm file, since it's so easy to convert.

Geez, you didn't exactly pick the easiest one out of the batch, if I can remember that song correctly. Stream of Lethe was one of the songs that was in the Modarchive metal compo a couple of years ago and came in second if I'm not mistaken, right after Tuomo's "the light and nothing" (a correct decision by the judges).

Hope this helps you out a bit!

You can also use modplugtracker's convert to WAV-option or install the "convert to mp3"-tool for modplugtracker. Personally, I prefer to convert my MadTracker .xm-files to WAV using modplugtracker and convert WAV-files to mp3 using SMTP-player, which has a sweet mp3-splitter function.
