Which button are you using to play the song? There are buttons and shortcuts for both song and pattern playback.
it's always better trying with stupid solutions first XD

you see the little square on the top-left? you have to tell the program which pattern to play there.

about the issue on vanishing wikis, what about making a regular backup of the wiki's db so in case of death of the wiki one can still obtain it, recreate a copy on its hard drive and then reformat it as a 'standalone' documentation?

Cheer up, it's still very simple nowadays: You make chiptunes, you either put them under a license or not and lamers will happily come, rip your tunes and sell them. Licenses or copyright don't bother them.

amen :P

MilkyTracker Support / Re: editing question

how do I erase an entry without "zapping" the entire pattern?

With the EDIT mode activated (press the SPACEBAR key and the middle horizontal line will turn red) use DEL or BACKSPACE keys. They delete in different way so try the way according your need

just to give further help :)
DEL will simply erase what you selected, Backspace will delete what's before the row where you are and carry up everything next to where you are in the current track

A white noise should work for the snare... at least in a chiptune track ;) I think bitshifter of 8bitpeoples uses this 'trick'
