Help me find that... / Modules by Cadaver
« on: February 20, 2009, 04:58:39 »
Cadaver was a metal tracker whose webpage vanished off of the internet many moons ago...college accounts, you know the drill. Anyways, I'm looking for one in particular by Cadaver called "I Will Bring Pain". He also did "Sacrificial Suicide" but I have this one...I'm also interested in knowing about any other modules he might have done.

EDIT: I found a few on modland's ftp and one on modules.pl, but not the I'm specifically looking for...

Tracking / Re: What's your tracker / format of choice? And why?
« on: February 14, 2009, 22:59:08 »
FastTracker II was my first tracker, and it's where I made my first pieces many a moon ago. However, my preferred tracker is Modplug Tracker and now OpenMPT I guess. :) I prefer IT above all other formats but will always remember my many years of ScreamTracker 3.21 and the at-the-time amazing S3M format which I used in many a game production with BWSB. :D

Demons On Acid was one of my own tunes...I had no idea it was in the original DP archives, as I don't recall DarkDread wanting to use it. I probably have some of the other titles still...I know I have all of Tarantula's work that was used in the game. I'll dig up the old archive and see what else is in it that I can find.

Mysterious Song's soundtrack was largely tracked by DarkDread himself, with a few modules borrowed from other sources. One of my current groups, Frozen Utopia, has produced a PC Engine conversion of Mysterious Song, with an entirely remastered score courtesy of Drake Woods. Some of the music in the released versions of Distant Promises was by Tarantula (used without permission of course hehe). I had intended to replace all of the borrowed tracks with original tracks by me, but we abandoned the project before I could do that. DarkDread gave me the rights to the game but I'm not sure if I will ever finish it or not. I also did a few tracks for my own QBRPG, Wrath Of Sona, though admittedly, not many people liked the ones I did. :D

I will upload all of the original tracks for Distant Promises if you'd like.

EDIT: I uploaded all the original tracks to my server:
http://www.nodtveidt.net/distant_promises_soundtrack.zip
I was going to upload them here but figured I'd wait to see if that was feasible. Some of these tracks are unfinished, and some aren't really the quality of work that is expected around these parts...

Tracking / Re: How often do you track?
« on: February 14, 2009, 07:07:21 »
I haven't tracked in years. When I did, I tracked under the name "Knight Of Fire". I was responsible for most of the soundtrack in the game "Distant Promises" by Darkness Ethereal (which unfortunately was never completed) as well as "Killers" by my old game group, Lost socK software. I would like to get back into tracking someday...

I've actually been registered here for some time (about 16 months now) but never actually posted anything so I figured I would now.

I'm an independent DS game developer...that about sums it up. :) I once (under a different handle) submitted several tracks to modarchive that were made by my favorite tracker, Piotr Bendyk (XTD). At present, I am trying to locate this guy...if anyone has any leads, I'd appreciate the tipoff. :)
