Tracking / Re: I'm so looking for chip samples.
« on: September 01, 2007, 20:26:37 »
there's also that thing that I do....
step 1: drag non-sound files into the tracker
step 2: zoom in and look for something that looks like it'd make a good chip sample
step 3: copy and paste that one section into a new sample

repeat those untill you're happy with what you can also downsample (in open modplug anyway?) to find interesting things...and then,
step 4: use this thing to tune all your samples...(I have a tendacy to skip this step, though... :))

Sampling / Re: speeches in songs

heh...personally, I hate long speaches in modules...or music in general, really...
with the only exception I can think of being "Behold the Winged Cathedral"....which is not a module...and really it's a few tiny statements creatively looped about

I do like, however, chopped up in Xerxes's "linguistics" :)
( is that not on the archive?)

The Lobby / Man, I miss the heck out of Five Musicians

have you heard any of beek's stuff?

He had some amazing well as a few less amazing things....

He did a song called "Note Cuts and Fish Guts," which is one of his best (IMHO); though I don't remember where I found it...

being slow...

I find myself hesitant to change this one....because I was in a state of mind that the song quite accurately describes....
Adding or taking away much would be really hard to do without changing that mood...unless I was in it...

hmm....this may take awhile...

The Lobby / Remember the first time?

The first mod I heard was WAVE's 911....about three years ago....

my interest was sparked pretty deep...after uncovering more and more modules...and from there, I started actually tracking...

Tracking / Time Spent on Modules
« on: May 05, 2007, 04:57:04 »
I'm much time do you spend on your modules?
Also: When and where do you track?

As for myself...
First I should point out that I usually track when I have a spare moment in a class with a working computer. This is most likely....
>third period - free period (10:24am)
>fourth period - computer/easy-to-be-called-a free period (10:24am)
>or seventh period - (after a test/quiz in) math  (1:42pm).

So the time spent varies alot...most common are: 20 minutes, 40 minutes, 1 hour, and 150 minutes....

And then I tend master my songs somewhere inbetween 5pm and 7pm, at home....panning and filters in particular....

So appearently, not only is it possible to get a module rejected only temporarily, but this happened to one of mine.

Download: [Destressor]

I am aware that the samples are out of tune....but they're in tune with each I'm guessing it's something that little riff at each pattern....

Feedback?  (:
