7zip an peak-bars
« on: April 23, 2008, 11:10:13 »

Hi,
I'm really new to milkytracker but I love to here old tracker-stuff...

what I really miss is a peak bar for every voice like protracker had it.

my second wish were 7zip support. It has 20% smaller size like zip for my tracks. you can look at a SDK on http://www.7-zip.org/sdk.html

hope it isnt to hard to implement

Is there a website that offers 7zipped modules?

hi,
sorry I'm not a developer but I found on http://www.7-zip.org/faq.html this

Code: [Select]
How can I add support for 7z archives to my application?

One way is to use the 7za.dll (available from sf.net for download). The 7za.dll works via COM interfaces. It, however, doesn't use standard COM interfaces for creating objects. You can find a small example in the source code. A full example is 7-Zip itself, since 7-Zip works via this dll also. There are other applications that use 7za.dll such as WinRAR, PowerArchiver and others.

The other way is to call the command line version: 7za.exe.

hope this can help.

On the web I didn't found anything about a 7zip-module but maybe I have use the wrong  words in google ;-)

I think its more to the point of wanting to keep his own collection of modules in 7zip format, which is considerably more efficient than PKZIP.

Hi,
oh sorry I misunderstood.
I don't see any web page with mods/xd-modules packed in 7zip.
I thought it would be a good feature to pack own modules in 7zip.
