Anyone want to duet?
« on: February 07, 2009, 03:51:01 »

I have a song going, I think the beat is pretty good so far, but I would need some help on making it sound better ;p

I am looking for someone who wants to do a duet with me, the song is called Phentaerus

(fen-tare-us)

yes, it is a very random name.

(Im mainly wanting to duet because I want to learn to get better and I cant really get the song going any further)

Psst, you can attach files to your post to avoid public Internet restrooms like that one.

yo.. the "bassline" is still in but it's a complete new song.. you may sub the last two channels to disable funktempo.. =)

that was quite good, but it sounded really offkey and abstract, especially the beginning.

now, I really hate songs where I cant find any rythm to it, and it took me awhile to get that one.

also, I wanted you to add to it, not completely change it.

remove the last two channels (where the FXX commands are) and put a F7D/F04 there to get your original speed.. i find it difficult to add to it since it is not really structured.. the only interesting thing to me is this "nervous" bassline which i tried to work out a little ending up in this broken funktempo:

Code: [Select]
0   F0A
1   F02
2   F02
3   F0A
4   F0A
5   F02
6   F02
7   F0A
8   F0A
9   F02
10  F02
11  F0A
12  F0A
13  F02
14  F02
15  F02 (should be F0A)

i didnt notice it at first but after a while of listening well.. pattern 4 is the shit.. o_0 did yu notice the "drums" arent real .. =P

the "beginning" is meant to be an avantgarde intro part which makes a good bridge to your sloppy offkey patternzzz.. <<---- those E6X effects can easily screw things up (not very elegant!) adding a D00 effect right after the second E6X looppoint is a good idea sometimes..

~-_-~-_-~-_-~-_-

here's another track which is closer to the original.. i added some gate effects to some channels and left most of the original stuff the way it was...  notice: the "beat" is odd again and features some silly "all my duckings" impro later in the track... ;D

holy crap, thats alot better. two suggestions are to fix the length of one of the 0B pattern, and add an F04 effect to the start of pattern 05 because after pattern 12, it just kept going really slow.
