sample problem
« on: February 03, 2010, 23:02:35 »

Hello

I am new to the world of Milkytracker and I am having a problem loading my samples. I have been using a mp3 with built in mic to record a huge array of sounds from my toilet flushing to the meat slicer at work. When I load one of the recordings it sounds like the speed of the recording is way off. When I put the sample in a channel it plays the sound without static just fast. Also when I bring up the sample edit and hit wav it plays it slow and the tone is deep. The recordings read as .wav files so i am a little lost any ideas?

I'm not sure Milkytracker can load mp3 files. Convert them to WAV first, then try again - perhaps?

The mp3 player records in wave sound type. Would the mic recordings maybe have different properties that make it sound wrong in milkytracker? Or possibly I could convert it to a wave sound file that fits milkytracker?

Milkytracker adjusts the frequency of a sample by playing it faster or slower.  If the sample is playing too fast for you, use a lower note - for instance try a C-3 instead of a C-4.

You can also fine-tune a sample using the instrument editor.

Thank you so much that did. I went to instrument edit and played the sample on different keys and it worked perfectly. Thanks for your help.
