I know this is a gathering of mostly musicians, so I was wondering and pondering what other musical time killers keep you from doing your homework properly, besides tracking.

To melt the ice ánd to give you a slight idea of my intentions, I will provide a few links that rob me of my precious time:

I do not really understand this poll. Are you asking what we other music-related things we do on our spare time? Well, if that is the case, I do play quite often on my Yamaha synth. Sometimes I pick up the flute and play a tune, too, but that does not happen too often.

Well, as eagle, i play on my (not his^^) yamaha synth. from this one, i also get lotsa samples for my tracked stuff

Well.. not tracking anymore, but I guess I can still answer to this  
I've studied classical piano for 12-13 years and studied music theory. I also loaned couple of months ago a chromatic harmonica from my friend for learning a bit. Liked the idea of sitting outside somewhere and just playing and drinking beer   8-)
I've had also few bands varying from folk music to metal and old rock, unfortunately I don't have any bands atm, though.

There are so many things I want to learn to play:

-piano (I already know a little)
-brass (trumpet, trombone, Tuba)
-woodwinds ( saxophones in different sizes, and so on)
-Accordeon
-Uillean Pipes (Irish bagpipes)
-Bodhrán
-and many more...

I could give an entire list of what music styles I also like, but I think you get bored after a while.

I hope you understand by now that this is a very open and free topic. Dump your links if you're willing and able to go through all the effort and provide us with some fine (in your opinion) music.

Do you want to practice on the piano without having one? You could get a tracker with piano-like key setup, e.g. GoatTracker, MilkyTracker or ProTracker (for Amiga).

I wish I had some drums to play on. I miss them. It's no fun only being able to hit the kness, the shoulders and the ground, pretending they are a snare, hi-hat and a bass drum.

My girlfriend has a piano.
I play in a marching band so I could start learning brass or woodwinds right away.

Eagle, if you can't afford a drum set... try the sink!
the iron bowl has a nice djembé sound and the rim has a nice bass because of all the chests underneath it.

I'd like to learn playing drums as well, but this would be expensive and i think my body is not made to do such movements (hard to explain, don't laugh^^)

I play piano, and have been for many, many years.  In fact, it's been so long since I started playing that I should be a superb performer and pianist by now.  I'm not though, because I interest more simply in learning to play and experiment with interesting sheet music, rather than to excel in technique.  There's just so many interesting sounds, such a range of texture you can achieve on the piano I find...

You want to learn accordion eh?  My dad owns an impressive collection of old restored button box accordions, and I've taught myself to play some tunes on there.  It's easy to learn button box by ear.  Just get your hands on one and have a hoot.  Keyboard accordion, on the other hand, is a little less intuitive to play.

Anyway, yes, piano, as with anything I ever do or experience affects my state of mind, thus affecting my tracking.  Exposure to different sounds and experimentation on piano inspires me the most, I think.
