I guess that's a pretty hard job :D But you may ask reed (he's on IRC for the most time), he got a mobile phone that can play SIDs and MODs :hrrhrr:

how keen are you to do this?
it's possible if you have a PDA running palm OS, there is tracker software called Psytexx (kindly brought to my attention by Eagle a while ago)

with Psytexx 2.0 you can play back and track .MOD and .XM

kinda hard work tracking on a PDA though

MilkyTracker is available on some PDA systems, amoung them Windows CE or whatever it's called. I think Pailes may be developing the Tracker for more handheld platforms, too.

Milkyplay is also available, it's a standalone modplayer from Milkytracker developer pailes. Now, the thing is we're assuming what WeaPea is using is a PDA - he calls it a Pocket player , probably meaning he want someone to build the hardware and distribute a hardware mod player... yuk - this is not necessary.

However, if we don't know exactly what this is how can the suggestions here be relevant?

My suggestion creates a workable mobile mod player. granted it costs a wee bit but you never know what kind of hardware peops can get hold of....

I don't see a genuine portable mod player being especially marketable, unfortunately. Although it sounds like an interesting project...

is anyone here smart enough to hack an mp3 player so it will play mods?
I know I'm not...

There is a firmware for the iRiver that allows you to play modules. I don't know the details, but I do know someone who knows someone who's got one.

An iPod with a custom firmware or iPod Linux might able to play modules as well.
I guess the cheapest solution is to get a PDA from ebay since it usually doesn't need a patched firmware for 3rd party applications.

*sigh*

Just get a cheap MP3 player (they're all cheap nowadays) and convert your MODs/SIDs/XMs/whatever to MP3 format.  You'll save yourself a whole bunch of hassle.

If you already own a WinCE/PocketPC or PSP then get Milkyplay and nag pailes to add mp3/ogg support ;)

hehe, i'd rather like an 1 GB mod player than an 1 GB mp3 player... My 1gb mp3 player is already full, but that aren't much tracks in comparison to the content of an mod player.. :) and converting all my mods to mp3 would take faaaaar to much time :)
