This is a pretty cool song inspired by an interesting star :) (check out the info). The song begins with some cool spacey windchimes and moves along with a nice melody. It's not very complicated, but sometimes the best music never is! Anyway, the samples used all sound pretty good, and the musical sections fit well together. Kruser is even fitting a bit of a light swing into the mix, which goes really well. At times, the bass notes don't fit with everything else that is going on, but this is usually resolved well. Also, the variance of pitch in the cymbals seems (at times) to be out of place, and some crashes seem a bit louder than they need to be, but otherwise the tune is fairly solid. Overall, it's a good tune with some interesting twists that fit well together. Technically, we can see a pretty straight-forward piece of work. Not a lot of effects used, and some panning would have helped the "spacey" atmosphere a bit. Of particular note are the instruments, as they use some good panning and volume envelopes. The only weak point here is that one of the viberaphone samples is softer than the others used to make the instrument; though listening to the track doesn't seem to reveal that on it's own.

       Mira
=================

- STELLAR DATA:
Mira, or Omicron Ceti is a star in the constellation Cetus (the
Whale).  It is a red giant star, about 100 times more luminous
than the Sun.  It is a variable type star, with a period of
variability 331.96 days, and from that time it varies with its
brightness from visibility with the naked eye to invisibility,
i.e. being visible only with powerful telescopes.  This means
that it is visible with the eye for almost one year, then
invisible during the next year and so on.  The name Mira comes
from the Latin word, meaning "Wonderful".

- MODULE DATA:
There is nothing spectacular about this tune; (almost) no
modulations, no exotic chords or progressions, no extraordinary
melodies...  This is just a momentary inspiration turned into
a song.  Perhaps an innovation is the bass, which is tracked in two
notes (in the second part of the song), thus producing bass chords
of two notes, instead of just single notes.  Also, the rhythm is
entirely syncopated (i.e. tracked in swingbeat).

- EMOTIONAL DATA:
This song was inspired by Mira, the star Wonderful.  It is visible
in the northern sky for about a year, and then it fades out to
invisibility for another year.  So, we see it for one year, do not
see it in the next year and so on.
My friend Jace Lanargaith will soon leave in the army, and when he
comes back, he will leave his home, his country and travel far away,
in a quest for his dream.  I have known him for some time now, and
he will leave and not come back on the Scene for a year, maybe two,
maybe forever.  We may not be able to see him ever again.
So Jace, this tune is dedicated to you.  I know, even though you
will be away for long, maybe forever, that you must leave us to find
your dream.  I know that you will eventually find it and achieve it.

So long, Jace, and God bless you.
