Per Almered made the mod (attached)...  These rips I just drop on Prowiz, but there is so much garbage in that file.

That DYNAMO.MOD recently uploaded is a somewhat bad rip..  Seems to be 120k(ish) to big..

I use Windows 10 and Chrome..

They play fine in MPTM & Milkytracker (tracker programs), Modplug Player, XMPlay (mod players)...  I don't need to test anything else if they work in those 4.  I downloaded from various folders, various mods with various extensions, they all played fine.  Prowiz recognises them as 4 channel protracker mods as does the ripper I use.

Are you downloading them from within the program your trying to play them in or just downloading them from within a browser?

I only mention the browser because recently Chrome started blocking downloading from certain FTP sites as the files were dangerous (ie this one and even!  Even though they are only data files it keeps blocking them. I have to go into Options/Download and click each mod that I want to keep. I'm wondering if that's a possibility. I spent a while looking for how to turn it off in Chrome online, but I can't find a definitive answer.

Can't see any reason why they failed to play. I tried in several players/trackers and they all played the mods just fine.  They look like protracker modules to me.

Help me find that... / Re: start

I've replied to your other post in The Lobby.  For now stick to Modarchive, later you can ask for other sources to obtain music (tracker modules) released into the scene.

Hi and welcome!

I would start with some of the artists that have been highlighted in the "Spotlight" or from the "Artist Search", on the front page. Then just click the download button associated with each module, but there's no download all modules by an artist.

Sometimes, it's just click a random link and see what you get..  Unfortunately, Modarchive is not entirely structured like a few other mod sites. A lot are structured by artist but the majority are just that, archived.  So, unless you know a bit of the demo/mod scene, you may not be familiar with certain artists and who to look for.

Also, obviously you will need a player to listen to them. springs to mind if your on PC.  Amiga has Hippoplayer, Deli or Eagleplayer.

There are Torrents mentioned on the front page if your familiar with them.

Song 2 Vol 3 after a quick gander

Awesome - Beyond the Heart.xm

I wouldn't say compatible with another tracker, more a re-player for listening purposes tbh.

I don't tend to listen to modules outside of whatever player I'm using, be it ModPlug Player or XMPlay.  As support seems to have stopped for XMPlay, I tend to listen to OpenMPT modules in the tracker itself, as I don't think either player plays 32+ channel xm's that well.

Unless someone comes out with a new module player I'd listen to it in OpenMPT, but .it would be nice just for the backward compatibility and being able to add it to the playlist in a player.

But seeing as you write great modules, I'd listen to them in whatever format makes playback easiest, except mp3 or ogg (oldskool listener)..   ;)
