Help me find that... / Re: Find an_yday.mo3

Well, after finding all original sources of module music stored inside of Hyperballoid's pack, i succesfully uploaded to yt for archival reasons, and i found one module file with scrambled name (an_yday.mo3), which it cannot be decrypted for obvious reasons.

an_yday.mo3 is an .mo3 compressed module file, I think mp3 compressed samples but can be decoded using UNMO3 from https://www.un4seen.com/mo3.html. I have a shortcut on my desktop to UNMO3, and I just drag the file onto the icon and it gets decompressed into the source folder.

Hi

I don't have those particular mods you asked for, but I do have a few by a Jeremy/Replicas, is that you or another Jeremy?

Although the old TiS is defunct, you could try https://tis.roncli.com/ which contains quite a few of the mods that were on TiS but it's nowhere near complete.

It has been known to happen before, maybe the music was in some kind of .dat file for a music disk or something.

The Lobby / Lucky Day module

In the New Additions for 4th Sept was a module called LuckDay-1171 by Madminder..

also Recovering does the same

https://modarchive.org/index.php?request=view_by_moduleid&query=201465

At over 1500000 bytes, it didn't make much sense. I have had a similar module since 1999 and only just noticed it is converted to protracker by Xpeh. If you drop this new mod on Prowiz, it rips the same module out of the file, twice and probably is the original version of it. Not sure what the original format it was though...

Enjoy!

Can't you just zip or rar the CD as is, with the folder structure intact and then post a link to the archive on some file sharing site?

Probably, most of the modules will already be known and archived elsewhere I should imagine, and at least the CD structure would be intact for anyone who wants the archive that way.

Wow, looks like it was the one I mentioned in 2014 by Dynamix.

I'm assuming it's by Dynamix, I'm sure it was entered into some multichannel compo back in the day? Anyone know what "Iwndtkot" is or is it a person?

Nice  ;D

The Unreal games series, I remember them with fond memories partly because the games were so good and that tracked music was used in the first two or three games. Good times.

I checked out the archive you put up, 99% of them I already had and probably some from other mods as they are standard tracked modules by some pretty well known tracker musicians.

Good music is good music though!  8)

Can you suggest how you listening mod music? What players using and how organize yours playlists?

I still use ModPlug Player a lot, even though it's not been updated in years. It still plays the vast majority of mods just fine. As my collection contains a lot of multi-channel mods, I think the playback is much better in MPP than the other players.

XMPlay is the mod player of choice for a lot of people, replay sound is good and the playlist options is great.

I still open mods in OpenMPT and Milkytracker to listen as well.

Playlist I'm not that bothered about anymore. With over 156,000 tunes in the playlist, Shuffle works surprisingly well! ;D

Mine are just sorted by artist alphabetically in different folders. I have a list of everything in an Excel spreadsheet with some mod info though.

Metadata is hit and miss with a lot of modules
Credits is hit and miss with a lot of modules
Genre is practically none existent with most modules

There is no de-facto mod player unfortunately for mods, although XMPlay' playlist does have options to add info. Deliplayer had options to add details but not supported anymore after winxp I think.

I'd like something along the Winamp playlist thing. Only drawback, you can't add metadata if it doesn't exist. You'd have to enter data manually, not worth it for 10s or 100s thousands of mods.
