Help me find that... / Re: \ = who's artist name?

Thanks CK...

I had previously visited this site way back whenever...

Seems strange that some of his modules were credited, but many more weren't, presumably being compo entries?

I was beginning to believe there was another Slash, ie. un-identified/un-credited. I have nearly 3 times more than even Modland has of his modules, so I'm assuming they don't know anything about the website, or even Demozoo about the compo entries....

Shame about missing archive from there too!

Been going through some old mods trying to identify a load of .it files. Trying to search online for maybe someone who might have released them as .mp3 or on soundcloud or something.

Managed to find one of them by name which lead me to http://compo.toastyx.net/
Couldn't find anything about the compo's on Demozoo.

Now, the site seems vaguely familiar so I must have visited it before and grabbed all of them but god knows when tbh.

I was trying to track down entries by someone called \, well assuming that's their nickname. Then I came across your name mentioned on there Saga, so you must have entered some modules to the compo?

Never heard of the compo(s) myself, so I was quite surprised they could still be downloaded. Anything you could share about this site? Or shed any light on who \ was?

Not sure, but I started a thread on AMP some time ago about this guy's use of scrolling effects in his modules. And, now another one. This one not as busy as other modules by him, but his name as pattern data, flying cube, girl dancing and end message .. Love this...  This one looks particularly good in OpenMPT or XMPlay..  Some great mods (with scrolling effects) by this artist... Check him out!!

Just noticed a "blast from the past" with a couple of modules in the latest update. TNK or Toalnkor of Realtech.. At the moment just 4 modules under TNK, but also noticed he updated his profile just a few days ago.. https://modarchive.org/index.php?request=view_profile&query=91706.

At the bottom, a request to add his Toalnkor modules to his account. Quick check, didn't find many, checking further, found quite few others.

No idea if you can add his old modules to his account, but I can attach my list of known TNK modules if it helps. 113 modules in my list...

I would imagine that someone decompressed the .mo3 and uploaded the .it file, probably because their player might not have supported the .mo3 format..

Tbh, I wouldn't store the .mo3 format myself either, so I would probably do the same as well.

Obviously he's a demo scene musician as far the modules go. It also mentions what groups he was in back in the day and all known modules, so far.

And also, https://demozoo.org/sceners/2993/ for more info....

Just found out about this. If you Shazam my ones it still comes up with this imposter. I feel sick  >:( I know my tunes are over 20 years old and not very good but they're my tunes. How can people be so .... well, crap?

Wow, glad to see you are still around and doing well I hope?  Your mods might be over 20 years old, last one from around 2006?? but they still sound fresh even today!!

Anyway, please upload any more "not very good modules" you might have lying around, I'd like to hear them!!  ;D
