Help me find that... / Instant Remedy - Artifacts
« on: January 26, 2007, 17:16:52 »
Hey guys! Haven't been around in a while, been too busy with school and my automotive projects to do anything musical. Maybe soon.

Anyway I'm looking for the above song in the title. It's not on his long-out-of-print-anyway only CD release and there seems to be no record of its existance on the web, so I'm stumped. I heard it on streaming radio one time and it was really cool.

Anyone got a lead?

Tracking / For my fellow ST/IT composers!
« on: June 06, 2006, 18:20:45 »
If you haven't seen it yet, check out BeRo tracker at http://www.berotracker.de/ . Get the Impulse Tracker Interface version. It's WAY more stable than Schism and has better .it implimentation than Modplug or anything else I've seen. It's not a 100% interface clone of IT (like Schism is) but you get used to it pretty quick, AND you can edit six channels at once rather than five.

I'm in no way affiliated with the developer, I'm just spreading the word around. This thing rocks.

Damn, I didn't know about this until today but it looks like too much fun not to try. I may have to whip something together.

The Lobby / How many artists...

I don't need to know, I just thought it was funny. I was reorganising my music collection and it seemed to be a reoccurring title. BTW I have one from a commercial trance artist as well.

Ya, I tried running it under the command line shell in XP but it still didn't work. I think it doesn't like the new NT filesystem - Dosbox will emulate the old FAT method for these sorts of programs.

(Not trying to derail the topic here, but I have a 486/100 with DOS 6 and the old GUS+SB16 combo in the other room for all my oldschool needs. I also have a 486/100 laptop with a built in real SB Pro and Win95 that works pretty well too. I used to be pretty good at that stuff.)

Got it (a couple days ago actually) and love it. I'll post more detailed comments in a few days when I get some spare time.

The Lobby / How many artists...

...made a song called "The Traveller"?
I know Jeroen Tel made one, Wayfinder, Necros, I made one (it's in the recent uploads) - has to be the most overused song title ever. At least in the world of tracking.

Just morbidly curious.

There was a program that came with the old Mega Ripper 5* called psm2scrm.exe that converts them to s3m. Worked for me, years ago...

(* And to keep things oldschool, here's the OLD Maz-sound site! BTW you'll need DosBox to run Ripper5 and associated programs under modern Windows.)

The Lobby / Video: Necros' tracking seminar - anyone have it?
« on: April 18, 2006, 07:11:57 »
So the Wikipedia article on Necros (Alpha Conspiracy/Andrew Sega) has an offsite link, at the bottom, to a video of a seminar he gave at NAID '96. (Yikes! That was ten years ago!) Unfortunately the like is to Youtube and the video is long gone off there.

Did anyone get this while it was up? I want to see it.

(Edit: Looks like the link was added Feb. 2006 by an anonymous contributor. Someone out there must have it!)

If it was on TiS, see if it made it to the unofficial TiS backup:
