Play a song just once???
« on: December 12, 2008, 16:28:44 »

Besides I'm a newbie, I couldn't find a MilkyTracker button reference.

What I am searching is for the way to play the song just once. Sounds simple.

Is there an option for that? Maybe one of these little buttons on the top-center: |F|P|W|L| ??

Or is it needed to edit, adding some command like E6x or..., what? ???

Thx.

Hello Tr4ck3uR,

to play a song, you can use the "Play Sng"-Button and to create a song, wich plays only one time, you can add a "F00", at the effects section on one channel, to the end of your song :) .

But, i have to say, that most of the Songs created in Soundtrackers (like Milkytracker) are designed to play infinite (with a loop point) or just from start to end.

Hope, it helps,
Ingo

Key reference is in the manual, F P W and L are in the FAQ.

Well I realise that the Tracker itself may not be the best choice when looking for a player.
Also noticed that Winamp plays MODs fine -with the advantage over XMplayer of being able to load a playlist recursively from a folder (ok, I'm not absolutely sure about that limitation of XMplayer, maybe not discovered yet  )-.

@jivatma: Goods to know, thank you.

@raina: Well, actually what comes in the manual is a shortcut reference, not an environmental button-reference but thanx for the FPWL point, I read the FAQs but I just didn't do the connections!  :D

Ok, thought you missed them. I think I know what you mean by environmental button-reference but since we don't have one, I'll settle for making

a) a stupid comment about the fun eco stuff that comes up when you google it and
b) another, arrogant one about the buttons having labels on them. :D

The latter might be have some advantage over shiny icons but admittedly it's pretty retro. Maybe some day we can shower people with comprehensive docs and make them feel more comfortable and welcome. Currently "the package" caters better towards veteran users, I guess.

Well what I mean is the absolute convencience (since is not a real NEED) of a single document which contains a description for ALL the options that the program has. Which also mean a complete reference of tools, buttons and screens, since MilkyTracker is not a simple program and has a lot of commands and utilities. I know, maybe is much work but such a grrreat program deserves a manual at least as good as the FTv2.08's one, also images inclusion would be NICE!. Maybe a transcription would be just fine, but for now I feel there is a lack of documentation in the pack.
Oh, and by the way I'm just getting started -as I discovered Tracking a few days ago! (my entire life wondering 'bout those alien-like melodies magic)-.  :o   ;D
Which means I could give a hand in the future if welcome.

Tr4ck3uR: I have started such a document. It's half way done and looking for contributors. You can find it here: http://modarchive.org/forums/index.php?topic=1265.10

I think you will find it helpful. Perhaps you can help flesh it out?
