heya, thanks raveolution for the comment, it's nice that people still comment on it i apologize, the flute-like samples are midi instruments (from my synth, not from a crappy midi bank ^^), and well, for me, their level sounds ok, but that differs from man to man and from equipment to equipment nevertheless, thanks for the hint

Sorry, I wasn't able to find any other information on the net - maybe it is a native format... You could look for "rayman music converter" or something in google

That's because the original MOD format doesn't have a real header structure, so every file could theroeticly be a MOD file. But you are right, MDZ files are module filez. however, it's a zipped format, and i was able to play it using winamp. I'll have a look at your file... By the way... you have the Jazz Creation Station opened on your screenshot 
is it possible that you got that file from jazz2? ^^ are you an active j2online player? 
EDIT: Hm, so the original file extension is LEV. i guess it's a level file I tried to open the file in many different way (i haxx0red it ^^) but sorry, no results here. :|

Yeah, that's maybe also related to the demoscene, which is much more common in europe, but not in asia and america.

That's not true. The "standard" is Fraunhofer codec, that's right. But the so-called "Advanced" codec is just a downgraded version of the original codec which supported higher bitrates, just like LAME. There are even some cracked versions around which support higher bitrates than 320kbit! And well, I personally can't recommend the "advanced" codec. The real mininum I can listen to is 96kbit, but that' probably only me.
So you should get the free mp3 encoder LAME and try this one, and throw the "advanced" Fraunhofer codec away;)

As mp3 is a lossy format, you won't hear exactly the same sound. A fair quality would be 128kbit, Stereo (a standard since years, anything less doesn't sound that good), but if you want a better quality, you should even chose 160 or 192 kbit. I do not recommend Variable bit rate (VBR), as it saves some space but the quality is changing all the time. If you have mono MODs, you can save them as mono mp3s with half the bitrate, e.g. 64kbit / mono instead of 128 kbit / stereo. If your mp3 player is able to handle the OGG format, this would be even better. The format is less lossy, that means that you can save your files at even lower bitrates, what resluts in smaller files.

indeed, when i "had to" change to openMPT instead of MPT (coz of my new soundcard), i hated the new features at a first sight - but even after a week i got used to them and don't wanna miss them - the channel manager, the increased support of VST, and so on...
