After a discussion with the staff, we've reached a decision, that we can't accept your upload from a musical standpoint, because this is not a cover. Your tune sounds same as the original down to a single note and this takes credit away from Naruto's original work.

As a technical feat, it's indeed cool to see it playing, but we didn't find the proof solid enough. Just to make my point clear, modarchive had a number of cases, where the screeners rejected midi conversions, even though they were stated as covers. The screening crew has a strict policy about such cases (https://modarchive.org/index.php?faq-screening-policy)

It states:
Quote
Modules that appear to have been converted from another format are not to be added. This includes modules which have derived directly from MIDI or SPC files, which have not been tracked by hand.

I hope you understand.
Greetings
- Looper

Your module looks way too similar to the files outputted by an FTM to IT conversion tool called FTMTXT2SEQ:

1. The tempo that the converter uses for all conversions is the same (150 BPM, 1 tick), although that's the tempo of the original track as well (150 BPM, 3 ticks).
2. The first few samples are the same (squares and the triangle wave)
3. The samples are in the exact order as in these converted modules.

So, you may have added a few touches to the module after you've converted it with this tool.

Regarding these key little details, the original .ftm file does use vibrato (463 and 472). The images that you're sending do not appear in the original FamiTracker module file. Also, there's no pattern 39, the FTM module's maximum pattern is 37 (0x25).

Hi, Basara.

There is another thing that concerns me, that didn't get mentioned, when I rejected your upload. In my opinion, calling this a cover is unjustifiable. This module sounds exactly like the original and because of this, I see your module as a remake/port, rather than a cover.

You can reupload the module again and the screening crew will decide carefully now

srry for bad english  :P

Sup! I recently submitted a module called artificial-intelligence-bomb.it , and the file upload was rejected for "conversion by a script". I love making covers of songs made for other systems/soundchips and transcribing them into .it or .xm. My account consists of those covers (not converted tracks), and my recent upload is no exception.

Well, just so you can believe me, here are some key little details that prove my claim. ;D

1.- The original 2a03 chip included in the famicom does not have an integrated vibrato effect. To achive a vibrato on a note, you need to manually adjust the pitch up and down. In my cover, i just didn't wanted to do that. so i just used the integrated Hxx effect included on .it modules.

2.- The notes on the noise channel just dont add up. the original scale of notes of the noise channel works different. So in my cover, i placed the notes by ear, without considering consistency. This means that meanwhile in the original, two notes may be the same, but in my cover those same notes may be different.

speaking about the noise channel, i only recorded 3 samples and combined them into 1 instrument. It's not great, but it's good enough

i DID transcribed the notes one by one manually, but i DID NOT used any sort of software to do that for me.
the samples were recorded and edited with audacity, and finetuned in OpenMPT itself.

a mistake i made was not naming it something like cover_artificial-intelligence-bomb.it , so if you think its needed to change the name of the file, change it.

i spent days making this cover, so it would be great if it gets accepted.  ;D

pd: i used a free image hosting website, and i don't know if the attached images will last long, so these are the img links: https://ibb.co/0mJNzw4 https://ibb.co/LrpGh6j
